It is quite natural to be worried about his/her health and be aware of the health risk… India does not present any particular health risk. Thus, no mandatory vaccine is required on the Subcontinent. The basic rule is necessary to avoid health issues. Ensure that you are updated with the universal vaccination regulation.
The immunisation against hepatitis A and typhoid fever are recommended. If you’re considering a stay nature trip (sleeping in the bush, go to very remote places…), you can also ask your doctor to prescribe a preventive treatment against malaria (the malarone type) and protect yourself from mosquitoes (mosquito net, mosquito repellent). Please note that the preventive treatment alone does not provide complete protection.
Basic precautions to take such as not drinking tap water, not consume ice cubes and avoid milk or frozen products. Remember to wash your hands frequently, at least before each meal.
